The Great Burnout: Helping Health Experts Scale Their Impact, Work Less, and Live Again!

When I experienced burnout, I felt alone, as if I was the only one…

A recent survey of UK health professionals found 79% reported moderate-to-severe burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even before the pandemic, the prevalence of burnout among healthcare workers was approximately 11% among nurses, and between 31% and 54% among UK doctors.

The situation isn’t any better in the US or many other parts of the world. This not only impacts the individual health professional, but also their colleagues, family, patients, and wider society at large. This is a public health problem!

When I went through this, I had the full support of my employer and colleagues. Yet that wasn’t enough. Much of it was also down to me.

I’ve previously shared the 4 pillars I focused on through my 90 Day Challenge:
* Foundation (mindset)
* Architecture (diet, nutrition)
* Engineering (physical activity, sleep, brain games, etc…)
* Ventilation (indoor & outdoor environment, your home, city, etc…)

I found that my work affected all 4 pillars. So I designed my work around my preferred lifestyle… that’s why I emphasize the importance of venture-entrepreneur fit, alongside problem-solution & product-market fit.

I still love serving as a physician, but I now do that part-time. The rest of the time, I feel energised by empowering Entrepreneurs and startups looking to create a healthier, happier world. That’s what led to me creating The Entrepreneur’s Doctor.

It hasn’t been easy though, having to learn about business, branding, marketing, storytelling, social media, YouTube, podcasting, blogging, website design, community building, consulting, etc…

There have been downs too, and so learning how to avoid the pitfalls is vital.

One thing is for sure, I love the variety, the satisfaction of still serving as a public health / preventive medicine doctor, and the opportunity to promote what I like to call value-based innovation & entrepreneurship.

Inspired by the stories of friends and colleagues, and fuelled by my personal experience, I’m now helping fellow health professionals who want to learn how to create their own online business, sharing their knowledge & expertise to help improve health & wellbeing. Some may wish to create education & coaching products & services to help patients or the general public, while others may want to serve as consultants and advisors, perhaps even as Chief Medical / Health Officers at startups and scaleups.

I’ll soon be officially launching the brand new Health Expert Business Academy, or HEBA for short. This is an 8-week, interactive series designed to help Health Experts create an online business that empowers them to scale their impact, work less and live again.

You may be interested in an opportunity to join a small pilot group, prior to our official launch. Let me know this week if you’d like to join.

We’ll be starting the 8-week series shortly. Apply to join the pilot group HERE.
